We are a 39 year-old club
organized to promote skiing -- downhill and cross-country, plus
snowboarding. We offer a number of activities and social events
during the year to encourage member skiing and camaraderie.
Downhill Skiers, Boarders or Cross-Country Skiers
Winterset promotes skiing
through subsidized lessons, Monday night racing, bulk buy lift
tickets and much more.
Day Bus Trips and Weekend/Week-Long Trips
The club runs five or six
Sunday day bus trips to the lower Vermont and New Hampshire
areas during the season, including Okemo, Bromley, Stratton and
Mount Snow. The bus leaves from behind the Edmond Town Hall in
Newtown, with a second stop in Southbury. A bus seat cost
approximately $12 per person. As the club buys lift tickets as
a group, they always cost much less than what an individual
would pay. Some Connecticut Ski Council trips offer lift
tickets as low as $15!
This year, longer trips are
scheduled for Sugarbush, Breckenridge CO, Sugarloaf USA, and the
On-Snow Carnival. Again, with group rates, prices for lodging
and lift tickets are seriously less than individual rates.
(Some of the above trips also include transportation.)
Bulk Buy Lift Tickets
Save money by taking part in the
Club's Bulk Buy Lift Ticket Program. As a member of the
Connecticut Ski Council, which negotiates for all the clubs in
the state, Winterset members can buy lift tickets at bargain
basement prices in September before the ski season begins! Bulk
Buy Lift Tickets are ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE MONTH OF
SEPTEMBER.
